Our working farm is situated between Hameln (14km) and Bodenwerder (6km) in the small village, Esperde, in beautiful Weserbergland, Lower Saxony. The farm has ponies, hens, rabbits, geese and a cat.
The three cosy holiday flats are inside the half-timbered farmhouse, built in 1730. There are three holiday flats in total each with 2 bedrooms, living room/dining area, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. The first flat also has a balcony.
Leisure Activities: A small beck runs next to the large garden. There is an outdoor swimming pool and a play area for children with swings and a children’s playhouse with slide and a sandpit. The summerhouse is also available to our guests with an outdoor fireplace. Pony riding and internet access are available at no extra cost.
There is lots to see and do in the area. The beautiful historic town of Hamelin, well known for the tale of the Pied Piper, Bad Pyrmont, Hämelschenburg (castle) and maybe a trip along the Weser on a steamboat. There is also the small town of Bodenwerder with its toboggan run. Helping on the farm is also possible. For those who just want to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet the area is excellent for walking.
Children are able to play on the farm safely without having to worry about traffic and free pony riding is available. Guests can also help with the feeding of the animals i.e. rabbits, hens, ponies and a ride on the tractor is always a highlight. On the “Hagenhof” farm we grow, barley, wheat, rape and sugar beet.
